basic rifle is a 91/30 big 5 $99 rifle with an excellent bore.
gonna try and put all the changes in a simple list:
bbl cut to 24", recrowned, threaded, re blued.
muzzle brake added...lower holes are filled to provide "down" push
stock cut shaped, sanded stained black several coats of tung oil.
cleaning rod channel filled
fore end sling swivel added..mainly bipod mount.
bipod added...currently a very short br model.
action bedded to stock from the rear of the tang up to about 2" into bbl shank.
pu scope base added, holes and fastenrs reblued
stock clearanced for pu base.
6-18x nikon with target turrets on a weaver pu mount
bolt dissassemneled, cleaned, firing pin spring cut aprox three coils.
bolt handle bent and extended.
timney trigger(original was huber but this is much better)
m1d cheek pad added(stained very dark brown, slight mods to fit the stock)

the subject of cost came up in another custom mn build...so here it goes
rifle $99
m1d cheek pad $30
trigger $100
brake $35
scope mount and base $100( actually less i think but it was on hand and the new cost more)
bipod no cost( original in personal inventory) but replaced with shorter at $25
bedding...no cost self done with in stock material
cut/crown /thread no cost self done
cut sand refinish stock. no cost self done
install scope mount....no cost self done

so cost to me of finished rifle is all of $389 without scope...with is $589

Great looking mosin! And even better job with the details. It definitely pays off in the end. shweet

For posting pics, its usually easier to upload them to a site like Photobucket. Then they will give you a link for your photo. And you just paste that link in your thread, and it will show up as your picture. Smile
This vid might help.

brass is always lapua.
i started with rl15 and n135.....
but use a lot imr 4064 also( 5 different 91/30 rifles plus this one)
typically wolf or tula primers( russian)
rl15 makes a mn out perform an win 308.
fact is sierra's accuracy load for 30'06 is a 175 at 2800..with modern powders you can do that in an mn.
